Which one should I get, a wood stove, a pellet stove or gas fireplace?

Please give me your opinion. TIA

IF I had these choices, I would personally opt for wood stoves, specifically because you can always find wood. I love pellet stoves, but you have to be able to go somewhere and buy them, whereas you can, if you have the space, over about 10 years, grow your own wood-lot. Where I live now, in a very old school, I'd love to have an electric fireplace, simply for the ambience. Gas - again - you have to have someone bring that and if you run out at 3am - oh well! You can physically eyeball your wood supply (as you can pellets) and know well ahead of time when to go get more.

I have had a wood stove for years. Honestly it does a great job heating but please be prepared it makes a tremendous mess.

Gas! Cutting/hauling wood is a chore. Cleaning can be a pain. You need to buy pellets for pellet stoves, load them in the bin. Still has maintenance. Gas is readily available. Nothing to buy, haul, or load! Burns cleaner, warmer, and basically no maintenance.

I guess I would answer this depending on why you're putting in the stove. If for look I'd go with gas for a more modern look. For heating reasons, I'd use a pellet stove. I loovvve our pellet stove. It's on a thermostat and will turn on and off as needed for heat.
