Stenciled Rug!

I needed a new rug for my outdoor patio but didn't want to spend too much so I found a rug at Home Depot for $17, applied a stencil pattern to it and sealed it with spray on poly. Not sure how it will hold up but our weather in South Texas is mild so I'm curious to see how it does! At this price, I may make another one for the holidays!

Hello I love your work. Where did you find your stencil pattern. And how did you measure so that that the pattern stayed straight? I can't wait to start one ! Thank you for sharing this idea.

Do you think it's a fairly durable rug? I need a new rug for my classroom, need it to be durable, and don't want to spend a lot of money.

First off I want to say I just love your outdoor seating area! Your taste is the same as mine! I would like to ask where you got your outdoor table lamp and would also like to ask if it is an outdoor electric lamp or one you've converted over to either solar or battery operated? You did a great job of painting your rug and got a fantastic price on it as well! I've got a couple of plain outdoor patio rugs that I may copy your painting idea on. Thanks for sharing your beautiful outdoor decorating! What did you use the spray can of paint in your picture on?

ARodale, I believe she said she used a spray-on poly to seal, after she painted the stencil using a roller brush and paint. Hope that helps you.
