I love the warmth that the season of Fall brings; the cool temperatures, and the colorful leaves on the trees. Red, yellow, orange, and brown are its traditional colors, and so, I made my very first Fall pillows using red felt decorations purchased from Dollar Tree.
I first made a leaf pillow. I just love the pop of red in the color of the leaf. I simply pinned the leaf to an 18" x "18" burlap fabric and stitched around the curvatures of the leaf.
I then stitched it to a coordinating size off white cotton fabric (leaving a 4" opening to insert poly-fill. After inserting the poly-fill I stitched the bottom to close the opening. (You could either hand stitch it or sew it on the machine).
I repeated these steps with the pumpkin pillow, and they both turned out lovely.
Here you see the contrast between the two fabrics.
The leaf was pinned on the diagonal.
Dollar Tree has a variety of these felt decorations. I hope you enjoyed =)
