Create an Outside Concrete Stand for Your Halloween Pumpkins and Heads

2 Materials
Happy Halloween! I made these back in March when I made some more of my concrete garden flowers. When I finished with my garden flowers I decided to see if I liked draped hypertufa, nope. So then my brain start thinking outside the box...
I do not know why but my brain jumped to a different version of the draped hypertfua everyone is doing. Then I jumped in my thoughts to Halloween and how I used to go all out and decorate and each year for the heads and pumpkins I would have to find a stand or something to prop them up.
I had visitors in my garden asking me all summer what in the heck I was doing. The concrete t-shirts were not completely hidden out of view in the back of my yard and garden so when I gave tours to the very far back- there they were.
Before I posted these the other day, I realized that I did not have many pictures of doing this project. Over on my blog I have enough pictures to give you an idea that it is just a matter of a wet t-shirt, some runny Portland Cement, and some creativity.
These are not for everyone. Shoot, my neighbor thought they were the most hideous thing she had ever seen but when I put the Frankenstein head on she was like "he looks cool".
HMMMMMM it's all about the presentation!
Pots, buckets or anything that can help you form the shirt. Wet t-shirts, Portland Cement, and some creativity is all you need
A thin mixture of Portland Cement and a wet t-shirt
I used nursery pots and wood to create the form.
These are the 2 shirts I let sit for 6 months to see how they hold up
With a pumpkin on top they look cool (you can check out the other faces over on my blog where I have more directions).

This and the wrap your body in clear packing tape over plastic wrap to build a ghost body are so clever. Only thing is, where do you store this bulky object off season?

I have an idea that I am going to try and wondered if this portland cement (mortor?) would work for it. I want to have cement borders around my garden for flowers but buying the borders can get quite costly so I am going to use the black edging to mark my border and then cut pool noodles for the border and cover the noodles with this portland cement mixture to make it look cement forms. What do you think? Am I nuts to think this would work?
