Headboard Transformation
A couple of pieces of MDF allowed me to have an unpholstered headboard!
By placing a piece of MDF on top of the slats
I was able to then upholster the MDF
The baseboard also had a piece of MDF inserted into it
Painted white with an applique glued on

MDF = medium density fiberboard. Actually quite nice to work with since is it easy to stain or paint and easy to cut too! Really sturdy too. http://www.lowes.com/Lumber/Plywood-OSB-Specialty-Panels/Particleboard-MDF/_/N-1z10hwt/pl#!
