Remove doors - Sand- Prime- Spray paint with sprayer, seal with polyacrylic. You can purchase a decent home sprayer (Homeright or Wagner)for around $100-$150 worth the investment. I would not seal cabinets with wax, they are harder to clean.

I have a paint sprayer, and know to clean and sand the doors and drawers. But how do you get the cabinet boxes flawless. A paint sprayer will send droplets everywhere. Can I roll on the paint on the boxes without marks?

The best way that I know of is to spray them with a professional paint sprayer. Remove the doors, knobs, and hinges. Wash the cabinets doors and wall cabinets with something like Murphy's oil soap to remove grease and dirt. Lightly sand, paint with a primer such as Kilz, dry overnight, and paint at least two coats of paint. It will make such a difference - be sure to post photos afterwards!

I did this but I used a paint sprayer. Just make sure that you watch a diy video on the correct way to spray paint. If you don't do it right the paint will run.

I have both brushed and sprayed cabinets. Either way will work, but use oil base primer and oil base paint if you want true durability and washability. very lightly sand between coats if you want a really smooth look.

Yes, you can roll on the paint for the boxes, use a smaller quality roller. You can also use a product called Floetrol. You add this to your paint and it allows for more dry time so the paint can be smoothed. If using a chalk type paint, you can add some water to it to thin it out which will give you a smoother paint. I hope this helps.
