Bought a dated 90's house from my mom. Kitchen has ridiculous amount of cabinets we could not afford to replace. We re did with $30 worth of stain. $50 in knobs $200 in tile and biggest expense were appliances. We picked those up over 4th of July for about 50 percent off
Kitchen at start. We took doors off and worked on in garage. We taped off around where cupboards met walls and floor
Mess but doors all off. We lightly sanded all surfaces then washed everything down with a TSP degreaser
Assembly line in garage. With the Java Gel the first coat I panicked. Second coat I warmed up. Third coat of gel I was in love
Close up of wood. I really love color and way wood grain still comes through!
Putting the puzzle back together. We ordered stainless appliances over 4th of July sale at Home Depot and bought handles in bulk
Tile in progress. I could not find online but this was from local store. Has glass stone and stainless in it
All done and grouted!

Stain did not have a strong smell. Is more like a thick paint consistency

We did almost the exact same thing in our kitchen. Java gel stain and similar back splash. It's been 2 years and has held up amazing!
