This gorgeous, rustic shelving can be achieved with some cut pine boards and cast iron brackets for less than $50! Make sure you hop over to the blog post to see the video on how to stain the boards!
I recently got the incredible opportunity to work alongside many of my Bloggy friends on an amazing project called "Blogger's Heart Habitat". We got to join forces with many sponsors, including Hometalk, to decorate and design a Habitat for Humanity House from the ground UP.
I got paired up with my bloggy bestie, Lynn of Fern Avenue Blog and we were assigned the Guest room, which was likely the size of most people's walk in closets. It was SMALL, so we had to get to creative in styling it.
I knew I wanted the decor OFF the ground as much as possible, in an effort to make the room feel less crowded.
I always loved the rustic, high end feel of cast iron and aged wood shelves but did not feel like spending the money it usually requires to get them.
So I made my own using CeCe Caldwell's Stain+Finish in Beechnut Grey, a 1"x10"x10' pine board, which I cut down to three equal pieces, and some cute cast iron 8in brackets that Lynn scored for a SONG from Hobby Lobby when they were on sale.
I sanded the raw boards to get the factory finish off of them, then I stained them with the CeCe Stain+Finish. The Beechnut Gray gives new wood an old, aged look and already contains a sealant so it's an easy and fast way to achieve this look. Head over to the blog to check out this product in action!

These are so pretty but, I have to ask where did you get the aqua piece next to the vase? This is the color I have in my bedroom and I really like that decoration.
