In part 1 of this two part tutorial, I explain how to take a cane chair apart to prep it for upholstery. Don't just rip it apart. Be careful in how you disassemble the chair to make it easier to put it back together. This tutorial includes how to take the seat out, how to carefully disassemble the back rest, how to rip out the back without breaking the caning, and the tools you'll need to accomplish it all. Tutorial also include how to correctly paint the caning.
