Ikea Wardrobe Playroom Organizing Hack

Our playroom was a hot mess. It's not clutter free, clean and organized thanks to the Ikea Wardrobe!
This. This was our playroom. It was after Christmas, the new toys were EVERYWHERE and decluttering was about to happen. I literally sat in this room, on the floor, staring. I knew something needed to be done, but, wasn't sure of WHAT.
So what any Mom does, she gets online ;) I actually went to Pinterest and starting pinning - You can see all those at: https://www.pinterest.com/HeavenlyRecipe/for-the-home/

I knew I DID NOT want bookcases. I knew I DID want something "built in" and knew I needed a desk to seat two children. This was going to be done right, a space we could grow into and a place the children would go to color, do crafts and also do homework.

I ended up at Ikea.com as I had saw a Billy Bookcase hack and wanted to price things out. The Hubs and I went to the actual store (first time EVER!) and I just wasn't SOLD on the whole idea. I wanted to more height and DOORS so I could close off the clutter ;) I ended up walking around (in a cast on my left foot) the ENTIRE store. We found a few options that would work, but, the budget didn't allow and I wanted something NOW. I came across the Wardrobe section & seriously fell in love. It was the doors I was looking for, the height I needed and I could customize the inside to whatever I needed!!!!
Now this was the FIRST time I had EVER bought anything at Ikea {gasp, I know!}. I put the entire system together MYSELF. There may have been a few curse words used, but, nobody was injured and I documented the ENTIRE process over on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/heavenlyrecipes/ (HOLLA!)

The top middle piece is going bye bye. If you have another option PLEASE let me know. The bowing doesn't work for my OCD. But, overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE the space now. It's functional, kept clean and that's important for me since this is the FIRST room off the foyer that you see when you walk in.

I'm also looking to get two new cute desk chairs and have a bit more decorating to do, but, overall, I LOVE it!

To find out how much this total project cost and to see the rest of the Playroom head on over to my website at the link below. I look forward to having you!
