Screen Doors Screen!

Used old screen doors on a project to add a little privacy behind our hammock area.
Rustic and Raw!
Purchased old screen doors from flea market.
Stripped off old paint and painted a fresh coat of paint on all doors.
Inserted tin panels to replace screens.
Privacy and Pizzaz!
Added hinges and placed as a backdrop for hammock area.

Suggested materials:

  • Old doors, pressed tin, paint, hinges.  (flea market)

    How do u keep the doors upright

      These doors are in front of a wire farm fence. We used a center stake in the back of doors and attached to the wire fence for support. They have been standing for a year now.

    How long will they last outdoors?? Won't they rot? Can you treat them with a varnish (marine) or...?

      Other than the $45 for the 3 doors from a salvage store, I recycled the other material. Sorry I can't give a more definite price. I like using what I already have around the house. I've been collecting stuff for years!!!

    The whole area looks beautiful. I live in the desert (ugh) so it's too hot to enjoy much outdoors..winters are warm but not hammock temp, at least for me..
