I would use a free download from graphics fairy or an inexpensive download ($1 to $3) from Etsy and print onto wax paper in sections and the transfer method is the same a rubbing tool and slow peel back to make certain the ink is rubbing off: if not completely rubbed off - slowly replace paper and rub again until all ink is transferred, burr as desired. Always use inkjet printer. Inkjet ink is dye based. This process is much less expensive and you are not limited to a commercial company’s designs. On Etsy look for junk book or junk book ephemera in the type of transfer you want such as style; modern vintage french, shabby chic or subject; birds, roses, dragonflies, etc. and of course you will always want to seal the transfers. I would not recommend wax though because you are likely to disturb the transfer.

Personally I use rust-oleum painter’s touch 2x ultra cover spray in matte clear. You want to hold the can a good distance away to prevent pooling and smudging. The product contains acetone so a light misting in thin coats is wise. Once coated it is water and UV resistant, doesn’t yellow and is durable.

Where do I buy the transfers??
Hello, I am new to the transfer designs. I recently applied a transfer and sealed with Dixie Belle clear coat. After 3 coats, I am still able to scratch the surface with my nail. Is there any thing more durable that would produce a durable coating without harming the transfer? Thanks very much.
