I read somewhere a while back that you can get rid of flees and mosquitoes in your yard by spraying a natural DIY combination of ingredients? I can not remember where I saw it or what was in it. Vinegar maybe and something else??

Citronelle plants, first choice then it'd be a combination of Lavenders. Salt on carpet before vacuuming helps also.

Don't use vinegar! It will kill the plants! Lemongrass & peppermint are good bug deflectors.

I pour a drop or two of olive oil in any pan, hole, spot that may hold water...when the water evaporates the oil coats the container and then when it rains or gets water in it again it just oils up again. I do this 2-3 times during the summer to any place that may hold water. The oily water doesn't hurt anything if I use it to hydrate my plants. I also use "listerine" type mouthwash - the cheaper the better - to spray around my back door and patio - it does keep mosquitoes away. I think it ut be the eucalyptus (sp)! I just spray everytime I go out the door!

To Tony. Re fleas, slugs e.t.c. Diatomaceous works 100% It is totally safe, and cheap too. Also it does not harm butterflies and beesThe only thing it takes time. Buy food quality. Masses of sites about it, really interesting. I started to take some as well! but you have to be careful of the fine dust. Wear a mask says I, who has not! It cuts like diamonds. Good luck hope this helps. Fran from France Fran from France :)
