I have 2 cats that seem to fight over the same area. It has been a battle to try and keep up with the messes they make. I have been told by a professional carpet cleaner that the stain needs to come out and not get rubbed in. I used his suggestion of laundry soap, I put just a small amount of liquid laundry soap in a container with HOT water, soak the area, then I let it sit for a bit, After a little gentle blotting I take a shop vac to the area wait a bit and it looks and smells a whole lot better. I hope this works for you.

We had my wedding ceremony in my home. About a week before, one of my dogs passed away... two days prior to the big day, one of my dogs sprayed the entire house. Vinegar was the answer for dog urine. We mixed it half and half with water and sprayed everything, walls, furniture and floors. The smell of vinegar only lasted about 12 hours (until totally dry) and the smell of urine disappeared along with the smell of the vinegar. Do be cautious, vinegar is an acid and may damage your property.

Any large pet store like Super Petz, Pet Smart. This stuff really works. I cat peed in my Honda CRV and I literally poured this on the back seat, full strength, right out of a garden sprinkling can. Within a day or two- no smell!!

Hire a pro who uses a water claw to remove contamination in the pad. That's where it is, that's where you can't clean.
