You can do it! I can walk you through it. :) I used scraps of wood leftover from our recent DIY wall to wall closet build to create the rails. We improvised with rope where the scraps weren't big enough and it's the perfect little nautical detail.
You could easily use a 4 x 4 post for the legs, but we salvaged an old Dade County Pine beam from our neighbor's garbage to add just the right amount of rustic.
