DIY Wedding centerpieces

Question

My daughter is getting married and we want to make our own centerpieces since ordering from a vendor is so expensive. The theme is spring time(March wedding) with soft pastel colors.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

We called all of our friends and asked them to 'donate' their flowers from their gardens.  Once we gathered all of them we put them in wine bottles, mason jars, and other mid to small glass containers.  We had so many flowers we had several containers on each table.  Additionally, people that brought the flowers also helped put them together so the work was not that hard at all!  We also tied each container with ribbon in the colors the bride had chosen.  It was beautiful.

please, no more burlap and lace and mason jars! Thrift stores have gorgeous vases for next to nothing.  I agree that the donation of flowers would be a great idea. Depends on the time of year tho in your area. There may not be much blooming then. Grocery store flowers are an affordable option. Even if you do you donated flowers, buying greenery to fluff up the arrangements will be money well spent.

I love forsythia. And all the early spring blooms  I would go to a good local nursery and ask what they can bring in bulk at a good price and either 'rent' the plants for the day or buy them and cut the blooms and then plant them in your garden/home (or theirs)as a long term memory of the wedding event.  With the nursery, they can pretty much guaranteedelivery of the peek bloom for you. And if you let the nursery advertise, you might get them free!

Where I live, there is a bridal consignment shop. They have TONS of table decorations, candle holders, etc. I've shopped there for other events and found them to be reasonable in price. Check it out in your area. Might be able to sell it back to them when done. Good luck!

You can cut and force some flowering branches, wrap dollar store cylinder vases with raffia and add babies breath, use small bottles with individual flowers, one larger bloom (dahlia, football mum) with some candles, cluster bottles wrapped with twine and add flowers or candles, or make a small flowerscape in a trendy geometric vase
