Well Needed Facelift on a Great Little Table

$7.50
3 Hours
Medium
I got this little table for $7.50. I normally wouldn't spend this much on a such a small piece, but I knew she was a great little thing! I named her Shannon.
Someone had seemingly tried to redo her, but you were able to see their brush strokes from the glazing.
I painted Shannon with Annie Sloan's Emperor's Silk. I love this gorgeous, deep red color. You know when people say, "That's the right red!" Well, Emperor's Silk couldn't be any more perfect! After she got two coats, I distressed her with 120 sand paper. Afterwards, I wish I'd have not distressed her, but the owner loved it, so I guess that's ok! One coat of clear and one coat of dark Annie Sloan wax later and TA-DA!
I would normally polyurethane the top, but this table came with a piece of glass (not shown). I thought that should keep the top in perfect shape!

I love this color!

@Rachel @I'llJustPaintIt.com what a great find. You have done a fabulous job refinishing it! The distressing provides character, and I think it was the right choice and not over done. Thanks for sharing.
