In my quest to make a decision regarding covering my new Bench Seat cushion I started thinking about seasons and holidays. We all love to decorate for holidays. I made the decision to make envelope cushion covers so that I could change the covers at any time, especially for the different holidays, hence; my project began.
I began with my front porch bench I designed the bench, bought a twin size headboard and footboard at a yard sale, for $10. My husband built the bench for me. I painted it and covered the cushion using fabric I had on hand. I covered the accessory cushions with a tea towel. On one I glued sea shells.
After my front porch project, I got the itch to recover the cushions on the sofa and rattan chair under my lanai. I refurbished the rattan chair and covered all the cushions using the envelope technique, again. Here's the kicker. I had a new king size sheet on hand that I really like the fabric pattern. The sheet is what I used to make my covers out of.
The table that you see is a refurbished table that I had on my sun porch. I moved it out on the front porch as an accent to my bench seat. As you can well see the porch needs to be painted. That is my next project.

Great idea and wonderful final outcome! I love the idea of being able to switch out the covers for seasonal changes... nicely done and great choice of colors :)
