5 Materials
I needed soft light and a display shelf for my massage office. I got both with one project.
I had Lowes cut plywood to the measurements I needed. I will get five projects out of this one piece of plywood. This project is the first.
I drew a pattern on the wood. I used dirrent colors for different drill bit sizes.
I started with the largest size bit first.
I finished drilling my pattern. Sanded the holes smooth and painted. I mounted 2x4 on my wall and strung Christmas lights between them.
I mounted my drilled, painted board and attached shelves.
I now have soft lighting and a display shelf for my massage office. I have four more to make. I will post when they are finished.
Suggested materials:
  • Plywood, 2x4's, Christmas lights, shelf boards and shelf brackets.   (Lowes)

I'd love to try this, but need details on ho you strung the lights...how are they attached to the 2x4s and are the 2x4s run vertically or horizontally? Do the lights actually go through the holes or just show through?

I Love the Concept! I thought you were going to use 4' led tubes behind the panels to get the lighting. Maybe that's what I'll do for my open shelf display cabinets. Whatcha think? Then the lighting is behind & no hassles with individual bulbs.
