Wild Horse Painting

I prefer painting big canvases. I did the background in a pale wash, and then used only a palette knife onto the canvas for the horses. I wanted to capture the freedom of horses, and using a palette knife forces the artist to be looser on the canvas. The entire painting is done in acrylic. My painting of horses is adapted from a photo of the wild horses which live and survive in the Namib desert of Africa (Namibia).
