Rustic Smocked Drop Cloth Curtains, Because I'm Cheap!

Okay I'm cheap and had 3 windows and a shower to dress up somehow, hum?? So a trip to the hardware store and $40 later I had enough material to cover everything. I love the look of smocked curtains for the guest room, but I'm looking at a pile of canvas! So, I combine to two. Rustic canvas drop cloth with smocking done by hand.
Rustic Smocked Drop Cloth Curtains
I used a long ruler and piece of drawing charcoal to make the diamond pattern.
Keeping with the rustic I used twine and a really big needle.
I sewed across the top in 5 rolls.
Cut the twine between knots.
Then tied 77 knots for each panel. {sounds worse than it was!}

    HI FABULOUS IDEA.... I USED THE HOME DEPOT PAINT DROP CLOTHES FOR AN OUTSIDE PORCH. NEVER DID THINK OF YOUR IDEA FOR INSIDE. I STUPIDLY TRASHED THEM WHEN WE MADE AN INSIDE PORCH BUT IF I HAD SEEN THIS WOW ! A LITTLE BLEACH AND VOILA! I AM GOING TO USE THIS IDEA FOR A FUTURE PROJECT AS IT MAKES SMOCKING SOoooo EASY. THANKS AGAIN
