Particle board floor

I just moved into a house and in the bedroom it has an old rug and under it is particle board. What can I do with the floor after I take up the old rug without spending a lot of money.

Painting will probably the most inexpensive option. www.ehow.com/how_7508355_paint-particle-board-...

The particle board is most likely your sub-flooring. You could replace the carpet, or put down another type of flooring. One of the most inexpensive types of flooring is the vinyl laminate plank flooring that looks like wood. I have seen as cheap as 99 cents s/f. It is easy to put down, looks good and very durable. Good luck!

since you just moved in and people often buy a housewarming gift, maybe you could let friends know that you would appreciate receiving a "flooring" gift. wood laminates, tiles, carpet tiles, whatever you like... and be sure to invite them back for the "reveal"
  • We've recently put Pergo flooring in our basement.. It feels super sturdy and thick like real hardwood, but definitely a lot cheaper. I would say it's a much better option than laminate, if you can afford another dollar per s/f!

Since you just moved in, you are probably tight on funds. Painting would be the cheapest until you decide what you want to do in the future and with the rest of the house. ***** https://www.google.com/search?q=painting+part... ***** https://www.pinterest.com/pin/561472278518576...

You could paint it using paint that is made for floors (will hold up better). It will get you by and won't compromise any flooring that you might put on later. Good luck.
