Make a HUGE Yard Spider Web And Spider

Here is the start of the HUGE spider web we wove all across our yard for Halloween one year. We stripped two old VCR tapes out of their cases and strung up the horizontal lines first. Knot the ends tightly but without tearing the tape.
You will need help to do the next step....start by tying a long length of videotape to the top stringer then go down to the next and tie or wrap your tape to the cross pieces. We secured each joint with black electrical tape after we were satisfied with the spacing. Do this as many times as you wish and cover the front of your house, it is so easy!
Next, your huge spider web needs a big fat SPIDER! We made ours in place so we wouldn't have to move it. First we stuffed two trash bags with crumpled newspapers then attached them to our yard arch. For the legs we used long lengths of strong wire and attached them together at the base of the body then bent them into shape. Use black electrical tape to wrap the legs in strips of black plastic and LOOK! Big spider to go with your humongous web! We added eyes and fangs of red felt for fun.
On the right side of the porch you can see the start of another huge web made of videotapes. Such fun!
Suggested materials:
