gray/blue colors are very popular right now and would look lovely with your tan sofa and blue rug. I would pick two colors from the same swatch. The darkest to paint below chair rail, and then go up to the swatch by 2 colors and pick that one for the rest. If you can, get the small paint containers (aren't they a couple bucks?) to try out.
