Repurpose/upcycle this table

I found this table, it seems to need some TLC... I've seen some coffee bars and mini bars on this site. I wonder if anyone has some ideas for changing this table to something with new purpose.
A picture of a table I found. It has some discoloration. A piece of wood has been chipped off.

Do you want to use the table inside or outside?

Paint it with chalk paint for more casual or fun look or glam it up for a more metro look. Add some slots for wine glasses to be hung underneath top shelf. If possible, put wheels on legs. Or create coffee bar with chalk paint and some cup hooks. If there is some detail on the legs, you could accentuate this with a different color than base.

Add rolling wheels and chalk paint it for a kitchen island. Add baskets to lower shelf.

You could cut a piece of wood to fit inside the top and use it for a tray. Since the top has a rim, cut the wood to fit inside!

Like the tray idea from Rolla, MO. Use it as a buffet for small dinner parties. A casserole, salad and a side vegetable and have rolls on the table.

Sand, add primer, paint your favorite color, measure top and bottom shelves, take measurements to Home depot and have mirrors cut for shelves. Enjoy your new mini bar, or night stand.

I would probably mosaic both shelves, put wheels on the legs and use it an a service table.

The cart looks to be just a clean and paint. If you go for a lighter color you'll need 2 coats for best coverage. I'd go for semi-gloss latex. You can always add some mats on the trays to avoid drips from glassware or scorching from too hot dishes. Casters/wheels are going to be a problem to find depending on the size of the legs at base. All of the plate style I see are way to big. The stem style may also be to large since you have to drill a hole to put the stem in. This link will show you a type that may work but it also depends on the leg size. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Shepherd-1-5-8-in-... They have another but it's pricey for antique furniture and the design looks prone to breaking. I've managed to break the wheel on a drop down dolly so it just looks to problems.

Alicia, you can get free stained glass patterns off the internet. I wish I had a picture of the chair I did. I put butterflies on it. I did an abstract table for my bathroom.

I can see this as a bar cart! I'd add wheels, use contact paper to cover the top and bottom shelves, (you can find some really awesome prints even at the dollar stores) add strips of wood as dividers on the bottom shelf where you could lay wine bottles, strips under the top shelf to make wine glass holders, and use the top for an ice bucket and other alcoholic beverages. P. S. you can find many how to's on how to make the wine glass holders on pinterest. Oh and I'd just use Formby's scratch cover on the wood. (works wonders) and would save you a lot of work.

How wide is the top? I had a similar dilemma and glued large porcelain squares to the top (they must be large enough to make contact width wise)"& added two dk Brown wicker baskets to the bottom shelf.

Make it a penny table. Cover it with shiny new pennies, then seal it with self leveling polyeurthyane.

Paint the edges and legs white or pastel color. Distress it when it is dry and insert any type of fitted glass, thick paper or even mosaic tiles on the top and bottom shelves. Similar to this one. The darkness of the original table will come through nicely if you don't sand too hard. Use maybe 100 - 120 grit sand paper.

The top would be perfect to cover as a mosaic because of the raised edge. Broken pieces of glass with grout between them. Could be very pretty.
