I can't take credit for this idea. There are so many creative people who have posted similar projects that inspired me. All these little critters were made with leftover 4x4 posts that my husband cut in various lengths. My boys love terrifying Hallowe'en décor but as a JK/SK teacher, I feel compelled to keep it cute and not to scare the living daylights out of all my little ones when they come Trick or Treating at my house. Happy Hallowe'en!
The mummy was easiest to make. I painted it with white craft paint first. I wrapped it with bandages. Then, painted the bandages white too. No glue necessary as these adhere to the surface. Lastly, I hammered in the eyes that were bought from the Dollar Store. 2 sets for a whopping $1.25! Gotta love the Dollar Store!
The ghost was next. It needed 2 coats of white paint. I cut my husband's old T-shirt and then hammered the Dollar Store eyes into place.
We drilled holes in the pumpkins and placed branches for the stems. I used one of my son's old T-shirts for the leaves. I added a little green florist's wire and curled it with a wooden spoon and some raffia bows. I used craft paint to make the Jack-O-Lantern faces.
The cute Frankenstein is not quite done yet. My husband is going to attach some old bolts in his head. Just green craft paint with black details.
