From Bland to Chic

I love refurbishing furniture.... This is my dining room going from bland to chic.. I love it!
First I started with removing all hardware including the hinges and then I scrubbed it real good. I had a few scratches and dings so I had to fix them also
I decided to stain the top of table and hutch instead of painting and I'm glad I did. I used minwax polyshades espresso.
I made my own chalk paint using bleached linen by Behr and painted everything else. I also bought new knobs and spray painted the hinges to match the knobs... I decided to go all the way and bought a new chandelier and painted the wall also

I had this same china hutch and matching early American table and chairs. I loved mine but sold to move to Florida. I still miss the WARMTH of that set. And why would anyone call something that holds China a dresser? Lol

Looks very nice. You did a great job.

Also enjoy the bottom of someone's dirty feet in the one photo. Adds a homey touch to the project. Shoes the result of hard, hard work. I never wear shoes either - winter or summer - although I own or 55 pairs.
