Halloween DIY: Metallic Crackle Pumpkin

Modern Masters
by Modern Masters
Mary Childs of Focal Points, Inc. crafted three pumpkins with distinct style just for you. This first pumpkin is created full of crackles and fissures with an elegant, shimmery spin. Don’t let this DIY slip through the cracks!
Supplies needed:

-Crackle for Latex Paint

-Platinum/Silver Matte Metallic Paint

-One faux Black Pumpkin (You can always paint one as well)

-Natural Sea Sponge

-Mixing Containers and Rags
Using a damp sea sponge that has wrung out, dab on two medium to heavy layers of Crackle for Latex Paint onto the black pumpkin, leaving some of the recessed areas of the pumpkin untouched. Start first with the top half and do the bottom next. Let dry 30 minutes between layers.
When the second layer is dry, apply a heavy layer of the Platinum/Silver Matte Metallic Paint to the bottom half of the surface where the Crackle for Latex Paint has been applied. Let completely dry, about 2 hours.
Repeat the previous step on the top half of the pumpkin, meeting and blending in at the middle point. Wait a few hours to see the final crackle and you are done!
