What to do with plastic dog food containers?

I have about 100 empty plastic dog food containers and I need some ideas of what to do with them. I started saving them to root plants and seeds.

Maybe try painting them and using them as office organizers or as storage containers, in paticular for gardening, since you've mentioned rooting plants and seeds. Hope this helps! :)

Not sure what type of container you mean. Are they resealable? The little flat trays? A little more info would help (or a photo).

I agree with C Crow...more information would be helpful. For instance, I use the little "Cesar" dog food trays for water when I'm painting with my acrylics or watercolours. Are you suggesting larger containers?

Check the bottom for the triangle , if it's there , recycle them .Someone out there has a purpose for them .

Agree with Jjwarren1965, see if they are recyclable. I wish all companies would mark their plastics!

If they are resealable, you can store things like opened boxes (without the box) of cereal, or cookies, etc to keep them fresher than just in the box.

You could donate to an elementary school Art department. kids use these for animal legs, teachers use them for storage, etc. If they are stackable that's even better. Also you could go to pintrest for ideas. If they are cleanable inside (can't smell the dog food and are recyclable), you could use Chalk Paint and get knobs to glue to the top and the put a decorative label that you can write on (or already has kitchen or storage label ideas written on then ) and use them for kitchen or office storage containers. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

I know exactly what containers you are talking about. they are the little square ones that hold 3.5 ounces of food. They are not resealable. I can not recycle them because they have the number 7 on the bottom. Our recycling plant will only accept plastics with numbers 1 through 4 because that's what the Chinese will accept.

I have both white ones and clear ones and it just seems like such a waste to toss them out. Someone, somewhere must have a use for them.

I agree and that is what I am trying to find a use. I was going to spray them and use them as a drawer organizer, but then found exactly what I needed without needing to do anything to them. Has anyone done anything with the Lil Cesars wet food containers? Cannot be resealed.

    Hi there,

How about in a craft room or Shed to hold bits. If you make a timber frame or shelf an cut suitable sized holes in it, pop them in and they will be stable and handy for your bits AND BOBS.
