How to Make A Pineapple Welcome Sign for Under $10

I have several pineapple items in my house. Ever since I learned that they were a symbol of hospitality I wanted them in my home. Especially since I love to entertain and invite family and friends over frequently to enjoy good food and fellowship. One thing I did not have was a sign for my entry or front door so I made one. It was really easy and so cheap to do.
I picked up the wall hanging from my local Goodwill store. It only cost me $3.99. The only other materials you will need are a can a black spray paint. Some gold and green craft paint, a piece of chalk and a printer. I already had all of those supplies and I expect that most of you do too. In that case this project really only costs $3.99.
Here's how it works:

1. Tape off the sides and spray paint the original print with black spray paint. Let dry.

2. Print out the pineapple and welcome sign images. (you can find them here.)

3. Rub chalk all over the back of the image as shown above.
4. Tape the chalked images in place to keep them from moving.
5. Trace over top of the image.
6. Peel back the paper to reveal the chalk image. Leave one side taped in case you need to go back over any areas that you missed.
7. Fill in the chalked image with paint. I used gold craft paint and a little green for the leaves. I also added a little gold to the edges.

8. Hang and admire. :)

Guess it doesn't matter what the print is, right? Reason you need it is to get to use the frame for you'd pineapple when done, right?
