Old Oak Kitchen Table and Chair Transformation

I love how so many people have taken their light oak tables and 'easily' transformed them into the Pottery Barn like beautiful black table. So, when I saw this oak table on Kijiji for $20 I knew I had to buy it! After spending countless hours researching and getting no definitive answers on how to paint a table without brush strokes showing, I decided to just do it. It really did turn out well but you have to remember to finish it with a good layer of sealant. I didn't do it the first time and I had to touch up spots. Well worth it though!

WOW...really looks good. At lot of work, I know!!, but just looks great now. Table similar to my old dining table.... I have a old mission style 48 inch round table with split pedestal. [2 leaves add 2 feet, but the pedestal opens wide enough to add 6 feet!!] 8 chairs, large buffet with mirror/shelf across back, and glass paneled china cabinet. It's in need of a fresh face....and I am wrestling with what color to paint it. Wish me luck, as this will be a big project once I figure what color....
