DIY Gold Desk Organiser Made From Upcycled Materials

4 Materials
I love upcycling different items and as my craft room was being done on a budget, I had to get creative and come up with ideas that would cost me very little. Most of the items I already had at home, so I ended up re-using things I already had and spending nothing.
I used an empty bean tin, a jar and little glass plate to create this desk organiser I had seen online (which cost around 50$!!). Using a little bit of imagination and work, it is possible to achieve the same (or even nicer look if I say so myself by doing it yourself)
I spray painted the items using gold spray paint and attached them all to a wooden pallet I had sanded down and stained using wood stain. I used e6000 glue for the smaller items and screwed the tin on so it would not move. I added some gold sparkle on the base by using a gold dust, to create a subtle look.
I wanted a little more sparkle so put a glitter tape around the jar and the tin. This is the desk organiser when it was finished.
Absolutely love it and it will look amazing in my craft room!

I wanted to use cans to plant herbs in & hang outside. When I cleaned them out I cut my fingers on the sharp inside edges. What can I use to smooth the edges with? I tried pliers, but they just bent the can & looked terrible. Want to paint & give as gifts.

If you have a good can opener, you do not have to have sharp inside edges.
