Home Office Makeover With Mid-Century Modern Inspired Vibe

I've always wanted an inviting, welcoming home office, with a desk that's free of clutter and hides all of those pesky cords! I dreamed of an office space that's colorful and flows with the rest of my home.
Well, I finally have that kind of workspace! Check out my colorful home office makeover:
This home office makeover, with a mid-century modern vibe, started with a DIY solid walnut waterfall desk. We did such a clever (and EASY thing to hide all of the cables). You can find the tutorial here:

I also made turquoise tweed back tab curtains, using the same tutorial I've used for other drapes in my home:

I didn't have a huge budget for this room makeover, so I used a lot of furniture I already had, like a cozy chair I found in the trash and had recovered and an antique trunk that belonged to my hubby's great-grandfather.
This home office, really the second bedroom in my small bungalow, is one of the first rooms you see when you enter my house, so I'm really thrilled that it's now a beautiful space. It's also really functional because my hubby now has a spot to work and there's a place to curl up and read. We actually WANT to spend time in here now!

It's certainly come a long way...
