Cover Your Eyes!

I made my weekly stop at my local Goodwill to see what late basement, early attic finds I could pick up. Suddenly my eyes nearly watered when I rounded the corner and ran into this sweetie pie! Dang that's bright! It was UGLY. It had a very shiny finish and a few nicks, but very good bones. I thought...huh...look at that. Next to me someone said "who in the world would buy something so hideous"?! I shouted "ME, I would"!
I packed it up in the back of my car and begged my sister to help me struggle it into the house. She and my neighbors were SO not impressed. Lol But the drawers worked great and the hardware was good and it had nice details underneath that horrid color.
I sanded some of the paint shine off and painted it with Renaissance Chalk Paint. Loved the taupe color but once I put clear wax on it, it looked horrible. So streaky and blotchy. Plus the paint came off if you looked at it wrong. SOO...I had to rethink. I totally repainted it with four (yes, four) coats of waverly acrylic white. Then I decided it was too stark. Lord, help me!
Then I decided that it needed color. Got plenty of that in my stash. So I got busy yet again and painted the drawers different colors. Wowsa! What a difference that made. Had to put four more coats on the drawers. My arms are killing me! Lol But you must admit, it looks fabulous now!! Very crisp and suble, not at all "in your face". I replaced the hardware and viola! Done, thank goodness. I like it. What do you guys thing??

Haha! I'm still recovering arm motion. But it does look nice in my guest room with my antique white iron bed.
