I love to use stain and I am obsessed with staining images on table tops!
I obtained this set at the Goodwill
First I sanded the top and underside of the table. Then stained the hummingbird and flowers on top.
I painted the chairs and the bottom of the table with turquoise and stained the seats the same as the top of the table.
I used wipe on poly on the whole piece to seal.

Did you hand draw the hummingbird?
If you're not good at freehanding a drawing I wonder if it's possible to find images and decoupage them onto the table and then use clear coat of sealer on the table?
Is the seats of the chairs wickets,straw? What did you use to stain that?
