With lots of "little ones" visiting this Grandma's house she wanted a bathroom that would be fun as well as functional.
Down to the bones.
As you can see shes not afraid of work, stripping all the old wall and ceiling surfaces off to the bones. This is the main bathroom for this 1940s home and is right off the family room and kitchen.
Let there be light!
With a larger window installed the wood siding is going up in place of drywall. No plumbing changes were required for the toilet but the iron foot bathtub was a different story. You can see the hot and cold copper supply lines near the lower right corner where her tub will be connected. Lucky for her, her dad is a retired plumber so he tackled the plumbing portion of the project for them.
SR/1 "MG" toilet odor venting system
Wanting the farmhouse bathroom to keep that old rustic feel but without the embarrassing toilet odor she choose a SR/1 "MG" to install on a new American Standard Champion 4 toilet . The SR/1 "MG" is totally out of view once installed. The "MG" inline fan unit is installed up in the attic and is controlled by the main light switch in the her bathroom. (Most people go #2 with the light on, right?)
Tub and toilet in.
Here the walls are done and painted as well as her beautiful title flooring installed. Love the iron foot tub shes used and of course I really like how it all comes together with her new "MG Equipped" American Standard Champion 4 toilet. Hope to have more photos has she finishes installing the vanity and lighting. Think the grand kids are going to love it.
