How To Pack Your Holiday Decorations Away Like A BOSS!!

I go completely bananas for every holiday. So bananas, that the question I get asked the most is "What do you do with all of your decorations?"
I shrink wrap everything! Shrink wrap is the biggest space saver ever. I wrap everything from my gigantic Christmas tree to my gigantic paper clay Halloween pumpkins. The stuff is super cheap and easy to use. I even wrap some of my garlands with the lights and pinecone still on them.

I live in Japan, so I buy a local brand and it's actually called "shrink wrap." You can find your local brands by Googling and Amazon-ing "shrink mini wrap with dispenser."

Shrink wrap is a plastic film that can be made to shrink by applying heat from something like a hairdryer. I don't use heat when I pack up my stuff.

I add a couple moisture absorbing packets and bug repelling packets to the inside of whatever I shrink wrap. Some of these packets come with a nice scent so it won't smell musty when you take it out of storage
Check out this mountain of Christmas stuff. I store these things in huge heavy duty plastic containers under my staircase. I have enough room to store three holidays, so I take the Christmas stuff out to put away the Halloween stuff.
I also write notes to myself with....little happy faces...don't smirk! This is a good way to remember how to set certain things up...who doesn't like happy faces?
I wrap up everything! The shrink wrap also helps with protecting delicate things.
I hope this helps some of you!

All this shrink wrap will to in the landfill and is very wasteful, take a picture of every angle and recreate the tree the same way next year.

Thank you! We are big on recycling and reusing! :) I know that Canada has a strictly regulated incinerator sector too.
