Kitchen Makeover

My mother-in-law was tired of her outdated kitchen. I had 1 week to transform it with a fresh new look, and all for $160. Two new paint colors and new knobs and handles was all it took...well, and a bit of elbow grease! :)

Visit my blog for the complete story, with pictures of before, during and after. It was a pretty simple process that I think anyone can do. You just need to be patient and consistent as you apply the paint to avoid any drips and runs. It helped that I could remove everything and set up my "workshop" in the garage and sun room. I worked on the project daily over the course of one week.
A quick before and after look at the left side of the kitchen
Before and after of the right side.
The complete left side view. We used Olympic Delicate White on the top and Summer Breeze on the bottoms
I removed all the doors and drawer fronts and sanded them with my power sander.
The paint was primer and paint in one. I used foam rollers to apply on all four sides. I did it as an assembly line, and it worked well.
My husband helped to hang all the doors and drawers again, as well as drilling the new holes for the handles.

Are these metal cabinets with wood look paint. The lines are so clean and modern looking. You have a very lucky mother in law! I hope she appreciates you.

What a sweet and caring daughter-in-law you are! And very talented, too! You did beautiful work and I know your mother-in-law is pleased. That retro look is super popular.
