Shabby Chic Wispy Lamp {Quick Makeover}

I love this lamp's base, but had gotten tired of the shade. As we are doing a small makeover on our lounge, I thought to add the accent color to the lampshade using leftover fabric which I had cut into strips. Altogether, I used about 4.5 meters of strips by 1.5 centimeters. I made no fancy knots and also left the straggly bits {after shaking most of the very loose ones off} ~~ I did make sure the fabric would not catch fire and am also using a very low wattage light bulb.
Left the straggly bits on for a more shabby look. {Low wattage light bulb used}
Perfect base, but I had gotten tired of the lamp shade.
Closer look at the base - thick clear perspex cubes with silver.
Removed this !

best to use an LED bulb for safety.
