Broom Closet Ideas

Michelle
by Michelle
Background info. Home built in 50's, in October my roof leak into kitchen. New ceiling and walls were just paint. New floor going in next week. Sheet vinyl by Armstrong in barn wood gray, wall color cottage white by Behr . So should I put a shelf or slim wall cabinet above washer wth a broom cabinet next to washer? Vaccum, mop, broom is in coat closet I want all this in one location. Kitchen size 11x11, it is tiny but functional. My kitchen table is a round countertop height 32 inch wth red metal stools. Thanks everyone ! Have a great day!

If you have a dryer that will be in that room then move washer over and place a tall cabinet at end of wall since it appears to be right there, then washer then dryer. Then continue with whatever else goes on that wall unless stove. Sink won't matter but if it's the fridge place that at end and cabinets in middle next to dryer, once counter goes on you have a place to fold clothing. You might have room in closet for ironing board since the tall cabinet can hold more than just a broom a vacuum cleaner and a mop. You should look into ikea for a tall cabinet unless you are ordering new cabinets for kitchen.

At least build a cubby to they are kind of hidden---with a shelf above it ---or 2---to store items like dust cloths and spray.

Maybe you could have a sturdy platform built (with storage inside)to place washer & dryer on. Have a drop-down door.

Fold down wooden or accordion style drying rack above washer (right?) And a 2 door cabinet next to it. (make sure you run a short sturdy extension cord out from behind cabinet so you do not lose outlet. https://s7d9.scene7.com/is/image/BedBathandBeyond/73293845396755p?$478$

I added a broom closet when I remodeled the kitchen 2 years ago. It is indispensible! I LOVE having that skinny little closet. I added 4" deep shelves the entire length of the back wall of the closet. It allows so much storage! DO IT! You will never regret more storage space.
