Can you put wood over cement?

bust up the existing concrete and pour more new over it to get higher and larger new concrete patio leave old broken up concrete in the hole

We had the same problem and found the solution in with the rubber pavers from Menards! They are 24x24x1/2". They are very heavy, durable, and cushiony to walk on. They are sold separately for about $7 each on sale, not the 11% sale that they run occasionally. Our deck is about 20x 20 and it took about 100 pavers to cover it. My hubby used his jigsaw and sawhorses to square off the edges to fit. Use a board under and upon the paver to keep from flopping while cutting. They come in 3 colors, I believe. We have the terracotta one and love them because they don't blow off and they're great if you have small grandchildren because of being cushioned! Good luck!

I had a high concrete deck off the back porch with a sunken area with a hole in it and cracks. My nephew/contractor offered to build a wooden deck over it at cost for lumber. Get some quotes from licensed contractor's before building. Don't let just anyone do it for you. Good luck.

My neighbor .he put a wooden deck.over his concrete.then put wood .around the outside.

I used Rust oleum concrete stain and the cracks just make it interesting, I bought the kit at Home depot for $100

As long as you elevate the wood enough to allow air circulation between the concrete and the wood (the posts don't have to be high) and you use pressure treated lumber you will be fine . 6-8" posts above ground should do it.
