Olympic paint, Stonington D14-3
-
Rae E on Nov 05, 2013Hi haven't used the Stonington D14-3 but have used the Olymic in a Mocha color. I did use a fast drying primer before painting and let it dry well first. Just a suggestion but most Home Depots sale the sample colors for what your considering using so you can test on a piece of wood or even very small area of wall before doing the whole wall. The sample containers are only a few bucks think under $5.00. Hope this helps and good luck.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Nov 06, 2013I looked up your color and it looks very mauve with purple/pink undertones. It is a good color but leans more toward gray. I do not like Olympic paints at all and I feel for the money go with Valspar with better coverage. It depends upon the light in the room. I would look at Woodrow Wilson Putty at Lowes (Valspar paint) it is a tan beige. Oatlands Subtle Taupe is a great color too and is a shade deeper than Woodrow Wilson. I have used these on renovations I have done for others and do not have pink undertones or yellow. I like valspar colors at Lowes and Behr colors at Home Depot. As the paint tech if there are reds or yellows in the tint when you pick a color too. Take home samples and testing them on each wall! color changes with the sun and lighting of a room. Good luckHelpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Nov 06, 2013I wanted to add too: if you like this color it is similar to Road Runner by Valspar. I have used this color too and is gray and if laptop monitor is close to color, should be similar to Olympic color you posted.Helpful Reply

JoAnn on Nov 06, 2013Thanks, I did get a sample of Stonington and the gal there halved the red tone in it. Still don't think I will use it. I will look at the other colors you suggested today. My living room is kinda on the dark side. West french doors but have a covered patio.Today, cloudy, and not a lot of light. I am leaning toward BM Pashmina AF-100. Seems a medium beige/gray. Head is spinning!!!Helpful Reply

KYBoonies on Nov 08, 2013An interior designer I know paints all the interior walls, whether new construction or remodel project, 6120 -"Believable Buff" by Sherwin Williams. It is a medium-toned, neutral beige that changes color to a soft golden hue when the evening sun shines on it. We have moved several times and I always come back to this color for my walls. Seems to work with just about any decor'Helpful Reply

Mrs.Me on Jan 28, 2014I used this color as my primary wall color throughout my newly constructed home. We used Olympic One as it has good reviews ( for the price) and we needed lots of it. Overall, I am satisfied with it and it's very neutral. If anything I wish I would have gone just a tad darker to achieve more contrast between the walls and trim color. We did achieve a nice subtle contrast by using a khaki sort of color on baseboards and windows in the main living areas and used Dover White in the bedrooms. Hope this helpsHelpful Reply
