I love using what I have on hand to decorate my table for company, and Thanksgiving is no exception. In this centerpiece, almost everything is edible, it'S festive, and is super easy to do.
First step was to find some large green leaves to put under my centerpiece and make it look bigger. Magnolia leaves work perfectly. If you live in a northern climate, perhaps you have a houseplant that would be happy to donate some leaves for the cause. The magnolias were strewn in a loose mass in the middle of the table along with some faux leavesI had on hand.
The next step was to gather all the fruits and vegetables in my cupboards that I thought would look nice and hold up well, and were colorful. I used squash, baby pumpkins, eggplant (small and large eggplant), gourds, lemons, limes, oranges, pears, and apples.
Next loosely arrange the biggest fruits and vegetables on the leaves. For my arrangement, those were the large eggplants, squash and pumpkins. On top of those, add the smaller vegetables and fruit, more or less randomly. If you want, use an apple corer to make a hole in a couple of apples to use as candleholders, and your centerpiece is done!
To finish setting my table, I used gold chargers that I had purchased previously at the Dollar Store. Then I tied some of my faux leaves with a piece of jute and placed one on each green napkin.
The table is set, and it's time to enjoy a day of feasting and fellowship with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
