So I scored this table and chairs for $10 from a neighbor, little did I know this would give me a major headache but turn out beautifully in the end!
If you look on the right you will see a major flaw in the wood were we sanded. I love to stain table tops and I am not a big fan of painting them. What was I going to do?
Soooo, a stained flower design just off to the side. Only problem stain did not want to take😟
I just went over the kona stain with a dark cherry stain and loved the result
The chairs were in great shape, just needed reupholstered and a little something to get them to match the table to my liking.
I painted the 3 back pieces on the chair and the base of the table antique white chalk paint then clear waxed them and then dark waxed them. Remember to always use clear wax before you use dark wax and work in sections.
Here is the table base.
Here is the completed set, you really can't tell but the fabric has the tiniest sunflowers on it.
Suggested materials:
  • Chalk paint, clear wax, dark wax and stain   (From a neighbor)
