I love how this hutch turned out. I gave it a jelly style cabinet makeover. I hope you like it.

How do you decide if a piece is of more value the way it is. I inherited many pieces of furniture that are antiques. My friend says no one wants dark oak furniture.

Just a thought Becky J, please find out if it is a valuable old piece or just old! Mine is about 43 years old and ugly! It is massive and takes up too much room. Right now I am on a chair project for my bedroom reading corner I am making. Will probably get on the china cabinet later. Here is a photo of what I have. Great solid wood, just ugly. I will keep the glass because it does cut down on having to dust so much! I am just too old to do the detailed work I used to do! I want hubby and me to do one of those "swiffer" ads that that absolutely adorable older couple does!

@Jeanette S - Great bones to that piece that's for sure! Please keep us updated on what you decide to do with it. :)

Jeanette S that is a huge hutch and like Carol I love the glass. It will be stunning painted and I think I would change the hardware also. That will make a huge difference.
