How is this removed? I have a rental unit where the renters have done this with my countertops. The way they did it and what they used is AWFUL. How do you remove it?

DO YOU SEAL IT WITH ACRYLIC OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT SO IT REPELS WATER? I WANNA DO THIS IN THE HALL BATH BUT I'M AFRAID WITH THE GRAND-KIDDOS THAT THE WATER WILL GET UNDERNEATH AND CREATE MOLD. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

IDK when this was orignaly posted but wonder if anyone has used contact paper to cover granite? The granite in my home is the SAME everywhere and I'd like a change somewhere especially in the kitchen. I may try it on my island although hubby does cut things on it without a cutting board. Maybe a glass top would be a good protector for it?

I used to use empty cardboard boxes, the tall square ones that many items come in. From 2 ft to 4 ft tall. First place folded newspapers/magazines in it to give it support. Then cover them in "marble" contact paper. They make great plant stands!

If you decide to do this, be forewarned that you will will need to topcoat it with a layer of clear 'wall paper' because the pattern will wear off in the areas where you do the most work. I have large glass cutting boards on either side of my kitchen sink, and two smaller ones beside my stove. I also have a 23 1/2 36" clear polyacrylic between the end (overlapped a little) between the end of one of the lg glass cutting boards and the refrigerator.
