How to Dress up Furniture With Hardware

Debbie
by Debbie
Pretty hardware can give a piece of furniture style. Here I gathered up tips and links for buying hardware and dealing with some of the little problems hardware can give you.
Sometimes it is perfect to keep a vintage dresser's original hardware. Here, I only changed out the top knobs to add a little sparkle.
First hardware tip...go out and buy these right now if you don't have them! Easily adjustable length screws for different drawer depths.
Sometimes, a touch of paint can update brass knobs.
Too many holes..fill in with a good wood fill.
Ever try screw in pulls. Just have to touch up steel screws to match.
A dressed up piece with mixed and matched hardware.

Thanks for all this information - especially about the 'adjustable' screws - I had no idea that such a thing was available! I generally use the 'closest' length, and add some washers! Dressing up furniture with new hardware makes all the difference!

@Valerie I didn't know about these for the longest time either Valerie! Now I always keep some on hand.
