I do a lot of my Christmas shopping on-line. As a result I have been developing my own cardboard mountain from all that packaging.
I know I can put it in the recycling but I thought it would be fun to upcycle some of the packaging myself into Christmas decorations.

My friend came round of an evening and we had great fun in designing and making our own Penguin family and snowman with the cardboard.
If you go to my blog (link at the end) you can download my Penguin template for free. Print it out in the size you want.
Next paint the cardboard penguins. I used chalkboard paint left over from my other really popular upcycled Christmas decoration by illuminated deer click here to see it
I made three Penguins, a large one (the father) a medium one (the mother) and a small one (the baby). I painted the baby penguin grey and white.
Once the paint is dry just slot the cardboard pieces together.
This is a lovely fun craft to make with the kids in the holiday. However as 2 grown ups my friend and I had great fun making them and plan to make some more.
