Fake It Til You Make It--A Faux Fireplace
OOOH! I love it too. Simple but Stately. Great concept for a start!
Linda, we needed a fireplace with mantle for our gift shop. We shopped the second hand, junk, and antique stores and found a really nice old wood fire place "surround", I guess you'd call it, for only $50. I've since seen lots of them. They have the mantle that rests on top of the carved wooden side pieces. Since the one we got had been painted white years ago, we just repainted it with a satin finish, latex enamel, screwed it into the studs, and painted the screws. When we closed the shop, we took it down, patched the screw holes and painted them. Good luck! Liz
How about a free standing electric fireplace. You can take it with you and they give off some heat.
Sorry. Link didn't work.

You can buy fireplace surrounds/mantles at salvage stores, or buy an electric one.
Hi Linda, hope this helps you out.
