Christmas Living Room Decor Makeover!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here, especially in the living room! I have my free tree decorated and my nutcracker collection standing guard. A little greenery and lights? Check!
I tend to go a little overboard with my Christmas decorations. It’s so much fun putting it all up, but taking it down always makes me second guess my initial zeal. But with my Christmas music playing I’m not thinking about that now!
I have been concentrating on the living room starting with the Christmas tree. (I still can’t believe I got this beautiful tree free! ) The soft white lights and gold tree topper add a nice sparkle and glow. I added a few birds, woodland animals and large snowflakes. The snowflakes came from K-Mart years ago. They were on clearance for $1 each right after Christmas. I thought about painting them and adding glitter, but that never happened. I like them as is anyway.
My nutcracker collection grows every year. When Bombay Company was still a box store, they would put them on sale right after the holidays. Sometimes I would splurge and buy one before hand if I really loved it. I have half of the collection in the living room and the other half in the dining room. I found this tall guy in the middle on sale this past year for half price. One year when we went to New York to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall my husband bought me a toy soldier nutcracker as a souvenir
One of my favorite Christmas decorations are reindeer. This year I added a few to the mix. I found these two reindeer at Homegoods. The smaller gold one was in the clearance aisle. He was mounted on a marble stand but it looked as though one screw was missing. I knew I could fix it so I bought him and his big brother.(who was not on clearance) Once home I found the smaller reindeer could not be reattached so I just removed the base and he was able to stand alone. I put the two on a silver tray and added greenery and pinecones. Simple and easy!
And yes, that is a teal sofa. We’ve had it for 25 years and still waiting for it to come back in style….

My Santa pillow is pretending to climb down the chimney and there is lots of color in the fresh poinsettias. Typically we don’t spend much time in the living room but with all of the festive decor, I’m sure it will be a favorite spot to chat and enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. I’m so looking forward to our boys coming home!
Lastly, today is Pearl Harbor Day. A special thank you to our military and to those who so bravely defend and protect our country. God Bless You! It also happens to by my Dad’s birthday so a BIG Happy Birthday to my wonderful Dad! I love you! I wish all of you a wonderful Wednesday. I’m continuing my decorating so be sure and check back in! Thanks so much for stopping by! xoxo Dell & Lacey
